“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5
Ladies, it was a glorious morning! The sun had just risen, the dew was glistening upon the flowers, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee was under my nose. But what blessed my heart the most was catching a glimpse of a tiny, yellow flower. 🌼 It was the bloom of a Wild Strawberry weed… and it stood so beautifully amongst the budding clover, in a pool of green. It was the ONLY one of its kind in our whole yard!
As I gazed at those vibrant peddles and sipped some coffee from my cup, what came to mind immediately was the gift of God’s Words to us. In a world where faithfulness is not naturally grown nor cultivated, we desperately need to know (and be reminded) that God is always with us. And the Bible does just that- pointing us not to ourselves, nor to the circumstances around us, but to the One who is Faithful and True. (Rev 19:11) Just like the flower, you and I will have days where you feel alone amongst a sea of faces, inadequate for the tasks before us, not to mention a bit out-of-place. But the Bible responds to those perceptions with living and active words of Truth…Strong encouragements to not rely upon our feelings, nor upon the wisdom of this world…but upon the Word (Jesus) of the Word (Scripture). You and I are positioned exactly where we are meant to be, with good works planned for us in Christ Jesus! But don’t take MY word for it… dive into His Word (the Bible). Trust His plans, and His heart…for you are His. (Gal 2:20)
In His Love,
Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,
2 Corinthians 3:4-5
“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.”
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:10
“looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?””
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.””
“BUT GOD, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”
“to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
“O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am!
Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before You. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Surely a man goes about as a shadow!
Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!
“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” James 4:13-17
